Aggressive Burm
I got a baby burm about three weeks ago. Currently she is in a 75 gallon tank, with both two sides covererd. Her temps are 89 on the hotside and 84 on the cooler or so the my herpstat tells me. Everytime I try to get her out she is really fiesty. She's got me numerous times already, and I've since bought gloves. I know that burms are fiesty when they are young, and usually become more docile as they grow, but how long does it usually take for them to chill out a bit?

just depends on the snake

Burms are one of the most underrated snakes in the pet world. It seems that everyone looks at them as "oh, they're big fat and lazy and super gentle puppydog kitty cuddlewuzzums".
Burms really span the extremes of temperament pretty well.
That said, pretty much all small'uns I've ATTEMPTED to handle have turned out to be pretty pissy, and the majority of 10lb+ers have never even batted an eye at me and seemed quite content to be handled.

I guess I'm just going to keep on handling her, and hope she gets more accustomed to it.

Re: Aggressive Burm
Mine is the exact same way. He's only nabbed me once, but tried a couple times. He seems to calm down more and more, but gets pissy when I go to put him back in or adjust him too much.
If you don't mind the bites, I'd say scrap the gloves. I used them at first to get him out, but he comes out nicely now. Just keep with it, that's my plan right now! lol I hope yours doesn't get you too bad ;] hope mine doesn't, too!
Something I found too when looking up aggressive burm info, haha, was that if cover their head gently with your nondominant hand and then pick them up by the midsection with your dominant hand they tend to get out calmer.

Remember you are the big bad predator who is coming to eat her. She doesn't know you yet. As stated depends on the snake, but she will come around
