Igby, sorry doesn't cut it but I really am sorry that happened to you in the first place and then that you were treated how you were. That's unacceptable. Like mommanessy said though, not all cops are useless or otherwise don't take their job seriously. Like a lot of things (reptile owners, for instance!), it only takes a few turds in the punch bowl to ruin people's perceptions. I'm a cop and work with some incredible people and some incredibly lazy slobs who are getting paid to do nothing. Please, whatever you do, don't lump all cops together as doughnut eating blobs who don't care at all about their fellow human beings, as that isn't the case for most of us.

I'm not sure of your area of the country, but where I live, the both of those clowns would be looking at multiple felonies including criminal recklessness for almost dragging you down the street with their car. Hopefully the campus cops get the hint and actually do something worthwhile with their investigation; if not, you could always request a copy of the report and if need be file a Freedom of Information Act request if they aren't cooperative in giving you one. If no report was completed, you could take it up with the city or county level of law enforcement, as those agencies would have jurisdiction over the campus as well or with the county or city attorney's office, whoever prosecutes criminal cases in your area as to why no follow-up was conducted to investigate the crime(s).

I'm really sorry for the situation and that the people employed to take care of those things did a less than stellar job helping you. Let us know how it turns out and take care!
