    feed it to breed it" When the females start to develop they usually will eat like bottomless pits. At this time I reduce the prey size and feed them everytime they act like they are hungry. Good weight/size ration going into the season and GREAT weight towards ovulation IMO is the most important for the girls. Males, IMO need to be a little cooler since heat kills or cripples sperm.

    Good overall health is a given, as the stress of the breeding season could kill questionable animals and a female that did bred if in poor shape is more likely to reasorb or slug out as she would be unable to survive if sick or underweight.
