    I routinely leave f/t rats in overnight. Usually they eat them within a few hours, but sometimes they like to wait. Occasionally if a picky eater hasn't eaten within 2-3 hours, I'll throw it in for another one to eat as in my experience after a few hours, they aren't going to eat. You probably don't want to leave it in much longer than the next morning, they do start to stink...
