The first "ghost" I knew of was the corn snake combo of anerythristic (the corn snake version of axanthic) and hypomelanistic. So a lot of people felt that the single gene mutation in balls should have been called hypomelanistic (hypo for short) and reserve "ghost" for the combo with axanthic (hence the "true ghost" name for that combo). I'm as guilty as anyone of not getting with the program and always using hypo rather than the now established "ghost" but maybe it's headed that way.
