    Opinion on Morphs

I am going to purchase a Spider, Mojave and a Pastel. I want 1 male and 2 females. Does anyone have an opinion on which one should be the male?

    Thanks

I'd buy a female mojave and spider, then buy a super pastel male in a year.

Make the most expensive morph the male because males generally cost less than females unless it's a new morph.
Also, I don't think it would matter whether you got a super pastel male or not, I think both parents have to have the pastel gene to make super pastel children. because although it's co-dom it's still a het for super pastel. However, I could be wrong.

i bougth that same morphs, honestly i was gonna just for a male pastel+fem spider, but the seller had only male spider and fem pastel, plus he offered me one baby fem mojo with descount of all (about 25% total discount) so now i have them, i think i did a pretty good choice because my spider is about 500 grs now and im breeding him to 2 normals this season and in the next ill breed him with mi mojo and mi pastel, of course if i dont buy something else (wich is very likely to happen)... but suggestion would be male spider+ fems mojo and pastel, so you could get bumble and mojave bees. wich i think its better than mojo bee and pastave if you buy the mojo male, but its up to you.

I agree. Your male should be the most expensive and have the most morph genes since he will be breeding to multiple girls.

I'd also advice to buying your girls now and waiting until next year to buy your guy as female BPs take roughly a year longer to sexual mature than males.

You could get a mojave spider male.. there's a great breeder selling one, he frequents this forum (pm me for details not sure about open posting) Then maybe a super pastel female or pastel pinstripe, or butter pastel that'll give you some good combos

You are right about needing another parent as a pastel in order to make supers but if you have a super pastel and breed to a normal it means you get all pastels and no more normals.

    Re: Opinion on Morphs

Get a male spider and female pastel and female mojave. The pastel and mojave both have super forms so you'll be able to get more variations with those females than you would a spider female (no super form).

    Re: Opinion on Morphs

I would get a Mojave male and the Pastel female and Spider female. You do not want to get a Spider male because you cannot produce a Super form with him. If you get a Super Pastel, they are fairly inexpensive now, and a Spider and Mojave female, you will get no normals, which is always nice.

I third this suggestion, or you could buy a bumble bee male next year which ever one appeals to you most.
