My snake just bit me :*(*

I had thawed a small rat...I grab her from behind and she turns around and latches onto me like I was prey

..and this surprises you WHY?

they are still snakes and not on the same level of domesticated dogs :*(*

I've been bit by our pup way more times than I've ever been bitten by snakes in my life. If anything, I'd say snakes are WAY more reluctant biters than dogs
