90 grams in 8 days!

I just weighed my gravid female tonight and she gained 90 grams in the last 8 days and she hasn't eaten anything in about 2+ months! I was just surprised by this and felt the need to share! She is due on the 30th!

Holy cow that's a lot of weight gain. I have two girls in blue and they are looking huge! I picked up my biggest girl just to feel her because she looked enormous, and she gained 300 grams! I can't wait to see eggs, your eggs are just around the corner, congrats!

I don't know...She looks noticeably larger in the area where the eggs are and her water bowl hasn't been missing that much water.

Physics won't allow her to spontaneously gain weight without something entering her body. It has to be water weight or possibly a scale malfunction. Number transpositions is common as well (I do it all the time....was supposed to record 819, but instead wrote 891).

I hope she produces lots of healthy little ones for you!

I suppose it makes sense that she had to have consumed something in order to gain wait. Her weight has just been so stable over the past month or two, so I was surprised to see this. I also double checked her weight, so I don't think it was a transposed number. Either way...I guess it's not too important.

She was bred to a mojave and a pastel het ghost. I'm really hoping for some female pastel ph ghost. More female mojo's would be nice too though.

Eggs are mostly water, weight gain when eggs start plumping up is normal, and yes, the water has to come from somewhere(mom drinking). I just poured some water into my scale as an experiment, and it isn't very much at all. 90 grams of water is about 1/4 inch of water, depending on the size of your water dish. It wouldn't be that noticeable.
