I work at Keystone Automotive Operations (the aftermarket auto supplier) warehouse in PA. I am the only woman certified to operate equiptment (ex. High reach stock picker-aka cherry picker, rider pallet truck-aka load hog) I get a big long sheet of stickers and drive around the warehouse to specific locations and get consumer parts. I know this doesnt sound hard, but in the "back zones" where only equiptment is used, all of the parts we have to get are over 70lbs. and usually 15-35 ft in the air (exhaust systems, grille guards, lift kits, superchargers, motors, transmissions..etc) But im going to be going to school for my criminal justice degree, although everyone keeps telling me to go into pastry haha

Re: What does every one do for a living?
I'm a cop in a little town in Indiana.
Kudos to you, JamieH, for going to school for your criminal justice degree. It's an incredible job field and has any number of opportunities for specializing, if you care to. It's been the hardest and equally the most rewarding job (career, I guess) that I've ever worked.
Pretty cool to see/hear the variety of jobs/careers people have and a shared interest/love of reptiles in common.

I suppose I can actually answer this question now. I'm going to be an account manager for a "contact center". I start on the 21st of this month! My first full time job ever!
I was a college student and worked for people with mental disabilities in a house setting. A nice change of pace with my new job I think.

Slitherin, Luscious, my hat's off to both of you. That job field take a very special kind of person to work with people with those diagnoses.
Congratulations on landing that job, Slitherin, hope it's everything you want it to be and it works out well for you!

Thank you very much! I'm super excited to start the new job and you are so right about it taking a special kind of person! That was one of the hardest jobs ever and I did it for 2.5 years while working on my BA. I'm totally burnt out and happy to move on to a desk job!
I actually started my school 'career' in criminal justice, but switched to Sociology to be more diverse and I enjoyed the research part. My original plan out of college was to get a job as a social worker in the prison system, but Iowa is on a hiring freeze in many, if not all departments I put in 160+ apps and finally landed this job and I'm happy as a peach.

Re: What does every one do for a living?
That's awesome, Slitherin! And IOWA, really?! Heck yeah! My wife was born and raised there and still has family in the Cedar Rapids, Shell Rock, Waverly areas.
I hear ya' on the hiring freeze. Sucks. I was hoping to make a move out there to the State Highway Patrol or a small town agency but it isn't looking good for the present time. I loved my sociology classes in college. Those and anthropology...hahahaha! I'm such a nerd, lol!
And Cheyenne Mountain...that's NORAD territory, isn't it? Thank you very much for your service, whatever you do. Have the utmost respect for service personnel and I very much appreciate what you all do.
