All these food refusals lately! Anyone else experiencing this?
Well, today was my ball python feeding day, and I had a record number of refusals. Only three out of my 15 ball pythons ate their meals! Only one looks to be in shed, and a couple might possibly be gravid. All of my corns, kings and boa constictors are eating like pigs, but it amazes me how many of my balls are off feed right now. I'm thinking there must be something about this time of year. Just curious if any of you are exeriencing the same thing?

My garbage disposal female passed on her rat this week. Though I think I was handling her a little more than usual, I cleaned her cage right before feeding. She was kind of antsy anyways.

my pastel just ate for the first time in a month last night... but 3/15 that seems like a huge percentage of your bps so maybe double check all their temps etc..??

OH GOD, YES.
For the last 4 months of winter, the brats have been on and off their food and only recently is starting to take again. Had the same problem last winter but I'm smarter this time around--
I only offer food if they come to the front of the tank at night during the winter months (which is sometimes once every two weeks or so) so not only do I not waste rats but they're getting conditioned to come up to me if they're hungry.
(actually, it's probably the other way around--I'm all "hey, look I can make the pythons come to me by pretending I have food." and they're all like "hey, look I can make the human give me food just by coming up to the front of the tub.")
Watch and wait; a hapless creature has wandered in wake of my growing hunger. My oh my, don't you look tasty? Hey traveler, what do you know of wolves?
All that's scaly and reptilian, all that's furry and mammalian, all that swims in the sea, all that flies in the sky--I love each and every one of these precious creatures.

its normal. I have 30 bps and I went a week with out any of them taking their food. Its just that time of year.

Join the club! It's normal and very frustrating. I want you to imagine the agony watching a $5-10k high end female or multiple females refuse food for a few months and setting them back another year... Then you have that normal female who just CHOWS and says "breed me in 18 months!" :

Yup its that time of the year. Most of mine went off feed around Mid Dec. Right after our first good cold snap here Florida. Out of 11 I get maybe 1-3 take food right now.

One of my males for the first time in his life showed no interest in a rat last night LOL
My strongest feeding male out of them all. Wanted nothing to do with it.
