think my snakes is sick

well for the past two months she has not eaten and now i notice her making kinda like a hissing sound about every 15 mins or so and her throth expands when she does it my roomate said she might have a calcium deposit stuck in there and can get it out what should i do

Possible RI infection. Better bring your pet to a vet for proper diagnosis and treatment before its too late (though 2 months of having that weird hissing sound and expanding throat is already too long). Goodluck buddy.

she hasnt been making the hissing sound but for a few days now it hasnt been two months i dont know if we have a vet around here that will take ball pythons if i have to take her in somewhere i can see it getting costly

Well, if she seems fine now and isn't stressed maybe a vet visit can be held off because, yes, they are expensive!
But if you ever do need to find an exotic vet, I suggest calling local vets, animal hospitals, humane societies, or even a Banfield at a local PetSmart! They can usually give you the number to the nearest exotic vet. I went into the Banfield at PetSmart a while ago and they gave me the information for two exotic vets nearby! I called both and a "checkup" alone was between $50-80

Try to keep your tank misted once a day, 50-60% is good when shes not shedding. Also try to keep your water bowl closer to the warm side, she might be dehydrated. If she persists on "hissing" in the next couple days, take her to a vet.

My BP did this about a year or two back. Turned out that the heat pad had stopped working and her humidity levels dropped a bit too low for her comfort. I thought it was a RI but couldn't get a vet to look at her until around the next week or so. So, in the meantime, I got a new heat pad and got all her temps and humidity back to normal and she stopped within the week and didn't need to go to the vet and has been fine since.

I agree with the above posts. Give it time and see if your snake is just stressed about something if you can't afford to take it to the vet but DEFINITELY watch her for next couple of weeks and if she continues/gets worse within a week, I would take her to the vet.

I would probably schedule an appointment right now to see the vet in about a week just in case she doesn't stop hissing so you have an appointment all set up and ready to go. Nothing is worse then trying to find a vet at the last minute! And in a best case scenario, you can just cancel the vet appointment a few days in advance if you see she is getting better.

thanks guys ive noticed after looking at her more she has some dried up mucus in her nostrals so i made a vet appointment for monday taking her to drop her off in morn

Is it mucus or dried shed? If it's mucus than your snake had an RI and needs antibiotics. In the meantime. Bump your heat a couple degrees and keep the humidity up. You could Also give her a warm soak in your bath. You a digital thermometer and have the water at 88.f. Keep her in the bath for 10-15 min and replace her in the cage. With stuck sheds they still tend to eat so if she hasn't eaten in a couple months I'm leaning towards an RI. Either way make a vet appt and get her in there.
