    hi all

    hi everyone my name is lawrence palmer i live in North Carolina. I have a Ball Python she is about two years old. her name ia alexis marie palmer. she has not eatin any thing in about two months i have been feeding her med to large rats for about a year feeding her every two to three weeks apart. every time i put a rat or even mice in with her she will show like she wants it then she just turn away nad not eat it has anyone gone through this very thing themselves and could i get some pointers an what to do thanks and i hope to hear back from someone soon

    I haven't yet had this problem, but it is quite common. Especially this time of year, I've heard some people on here report theirs went on strike for over 6 months! I say as long as she doesn't lose a lot of weight and is still acting "normal", just try feeding once a week until she takes it.

    Most adults will usually go off feed during the winter months, you need to offer her a sm-med rat weekly.

    Try reading some of the BP care sheets in the forums, to find out how to optimally care for your animal

    Sexually mature animals are more likely to do this.

    Suggestions:

    Make sure your husbandry is on spot (proper, temps, proper humidity etc)

    Try feeding smaller prey weekly (small to medium rats 75-125 grams) - Smaller preys allow animals to feed with more consistency.

    Keep monitoring her make sure she is well hydrated and wait it out.

    2 months is really nothing at that age

    ok sound right to me i was told that she did this once before but it only lasted about a month or so she is my baby the first thing i ever woned that i could call my own she hasnt lost any weight and she is still pretty active she moves all around her cage she has heat and plenty water so i guess i should just sit it out and wait thank for the replys
