Pics of my Rosy Boa tank setup
So i have decided to go with a 2010 rosy boa that was born in sept. I was debating between a baby and an older snake, and think having one that is 6 months or so old, already feeding well, and has grown into its temperament a bit would be best for me.
Im getting a ghost san felipe, which are awesome.
Anyway, I went with a 24x18x18 Exo-Terra Vivarium 2 hides, a few deco, and a water dish. Also I decided to use ZooMed Reptisand as the substrate, and I will be feeding her outside her home for you anti sand people. I think sand looks great, and have also read many things about rosies liking them.
oh last thing, i have an under tank heater hooked to a rheostat with my temp probe directly on the bottom glass over the mat. no burnin here.
heres the pics.

What do you guys think?

It looks nice.
I probably would have gone with a cage with a bigger foot print since the rosy won't be using any of that vertical space. I also would have gone with aspen since they can make burrows in it that will actually hold up (unlike the sand).

Very nice, I love the plant decorations!! I also agree about the amount of height, but I think it will work fine and it looks great otherwise
And that's really weird... the rosy I'm thinking about getting is a 2010 born in September as well... what a coincidence! haha And I had the exact same reasoning as you, 6 months seems like a good age. Mine's a San Matias though, so at least we know it's not the same snake Are you getting it soon? Because I know in your other post you said you were waiting til October.

Re: Pics of my Rosy Boa tank setup
ya im going to get one soon. hopefully this upcoming week or the week after.
the other option for the exo terra would be the 36x18x18. that would be great, but its an extra 100 dollars and is not necessary for the younger snake. I think my snake will be very comfy in its current tank. If it out grows it, I will upgrade and buy a NEW snake for the smaller tank : )
Also, i think it appears to be smaller than it is. the hides are very big, im thinking of getting smaller ones for the time being but i thought i would get a couple that it could grow into.

I have the same cage setup. I went with Eco-Earth (Coconut fiber substrate) because the Rosies seem to like to burrow in it more then sand/crushed walnut. I went back and fourth between the Eco-Earth and crushed walnut, and even used a divider and did 1/2 and 1/2, but the Eco-Earth seemed to be the favorite. I also put some vines on the sides (they suction-cup on) and found that Rosies will climb in the vines at night.
The cage setup you have looks great, no doubt!

0.1 Bumblebee BP
1.0 Lesser BP
1.1 Rosy Boa (San Felipe and Mexican Baja)
0.0.1 Rubber Boa
