Thank you for such a detailed response!! I hope no one thinks I am trying to tell anyone not to buy these animals, if anything I feel a little more knowledge about the subject would help everyone make the best choices for their animals! I know before I knew the facts about spiders I was determined to never own one!
I've also heard that BELs have been known to be a little less fertile, especially when bred to each other, I think there are a couple super forms that are like that.
Okay, thanks for the picture of the bug eyes! It isn't as horrific as I had imagined, but it definitely is something different, I had never noticed, I probably just assumed their looks were just because I was not used to seeing them without the dark colors and patterns!
But yes, anyone who has bred these animals, feel free to chime in! Whether you've experienced any of these problems or have been lucky and have not, your input would be helpful!

Never heard of any fertility issues with male leucistics; I have heard "rumors" of various leucistic females being infertile or sub-fertile, but unlike the caramels I think they are totally unsubstantiated (at least to me -- I have yet to hear any stories or see any pictures that would back up that claim).
The only reason I think there's any reason to question the fertility of leucistic balls is because I've read more than one story about leucistic individuals of other species that were brought in from the wild and never managed to reproduce. I haven't heard any proof that balls are the same, though.
