    Sick?

I have a 1300 gram female that is having some weird waste problems, it is clear with some white which I take is calcium, she has not ate in a few weeks. The problem is I keep cleaning her cage and she keeps putting this waste out. It smells really really bad. Like I said it is clear with a strong smell. Any ideas on what it is?? I do believe she is gravid.

    Re: Sick?

It could be just urine, but it could also be her scenting/'musking' around the enclosure. But if it truly is a fowl smell, I'm not too sure what else it could be.

Yeah, I am a little nervous to put my male in there with her because I don't want anything to spread.

I agree with Tiffany. It sounds like urine/urates. I can handle the smell of the poop, but sometimes the smell of the urine is just nausiating...

I don't have any females, so I don't know if there is anything extra when they reach breeding age...

    Re: Sick?

I would suggest removing the substrate so that you can get a better look at discharge.

    Good Luck!

This could be a sign of a parasite issue. I would try getting a fecal to a vet to rule that out if anything. Generally runny foul foul smelling waste is a sign of parasite issues. If it is it can get cleared up really easily. It's not common with balls but certainly not unheared of but things like round worms and coccidia can get passed on hands and water dishes as well as other transmissions.
