in general, the "____ pastel" names are just lines of the exact same trait, and yes they are compatible, and IMO mostly they are just silly marketing, but there was some basis for line breeding for better looking pastels.
The exceptions to this are traits that have confusing names, such as the "black pastel" and "enchi pastel" traits. Recently, the trait known as "enchi pastel" has become more commonly known simply as "enchi" and dropped the "pastel" part of its name.
Line breeding is how you achieve better results with polygenetic traits (such as reduced pattern, brightness of color, "contrastiness", etc.). If you pair a high contrast albino with a high contrast albino, your odds of hatchlings being high contrast are much higher than pairing a high contrast with a "regular" albino. With enough generations and work with selective breeding and holding back the right offspring, you could probably start off with a pair of low-contrast albinos and over the years shift the looks of the animals you produce towards high-contrast.. It's natural selection at work, except it isn't NATURAL selection, you're doing the selecting yourself!
