    Persistence is the key and really showing no fear.
    Approach your snake from a different angle. Especially if it's young, they are still scared and new to being a pet, so generally they will not but it does happen.
    I like to make sure they know my hand is in there not to harm them but to nurture care for and be handled. So be patient keep your hand in thier enclosure and speak gently to them, if they are jumpy just wiggle your hand from underneath them to pick them up.
