    Strange question?

Just bought my BP for Xmas. When I was young and lived in Canada, we would catch and keep Garter snakes. We feed them frogs, Earth worms etc.

I now live in Oklahoma and have lots of frogs, mice and small rats.

Would it be okay to feed these prey to Jack, or would these be considered un clean? Would they make him sick?

I am assuming that I should just stick to FT mice from the store.

    Again, just a strange question

I'd recommend sticking to mice/rats. Captive bred mice and rats that is, as wild mice/rats have a strong possibility of containing parasites, germs and whatever strange things wild mice/rats eat (they eat just about anything, including things that may be harmful to your BP). BP's can eat different things like birds but BP's are picky and you don't want them imprinting on a prey item that is either expensive or otherwise hard to come by.

A BP won't eat frogs and worms. They eat warm blooded mammals. Anything wild caught will most likely be carrying parasites and nasty bacteria. It is always recommended to stick with commonly purchased mice and rats. Anything else, such as gerbils, etc, can cause a BP to refuse to eat anything else.
