    Egg tubs size...

So I am still yet to get my first batch of eggs and to be honest don't truly know what to expect for size. I am starting to build an incubator, but just want to be clear. Does a regular size clutch fit in a small 6qt tub or do they need a bigger tub? I am just wondering so I know what size to make my incubator to hold a sufficient amount of clutches. I think I am going to have to go the igloo cooler route just because I can't find a broken wine cooler anywhere and really don't have alot of room for another fridge in my room anyway.

I use both 7 quarts and 15 quarts depends on the clutch size.

Up to 8 eggs 7 quarts after that 15 quarts.

Again depends on the clutch and whether or not you separate the eggs when placed in the egg box.

My largest clutch for balls, when I bred them, was eight. Six quart worked perfectly.

I used a simple Toyogo box, filled with vermiculite for a clutch of 5 eggs.

This is on day 50, I started cutting on day 60.

I left my own made incubator beside the fridge for constant temperature, 29,30 Celsius. Everything went well

Thanks for the replies. What size igloo cooler would you all advise I get for my incubator so that it will hold maybe 3-4 clutches. Would the 36 qt Coleman Marine be big enough do you think or would I need the 58qt? Thanks in advance

for 3-4 clutches in a Coleman cooler I'd probably go with the 150 quart just to be on the safe side

In a different current thread about mounting incubator fans I just saw that someones 150qt holds 12 shoebox tubs. There is no way I'll be letting me collection get big enough for me to have 12 clutches unless I win the lottery and buy a house that can contain more animals. Living in a friends house... I definitely have to stay within my limits.
