Re: Nocturnal Terrestrial Herbivorous Lizard...Do they exist?

You've got me stumped as well. I'm not entirely sure they exsist. I keep thinking of a few rock iguanas but I believe they're not nocturnal. When I think nocturnal lizard I think gecko. Though you are asking for a lizard to fit into 3 categorys I'm stumped If you come up with something please let me know.

    Yeah it's a tough one...

I can come up with examples for about any other combination....but not this one.

The best I could do was the Solomon Island Prehensile Tail Skink...but as someone else mentioned, its arboreal...

Yea good pick but theres always one thing that keeps 'em out. I think you maybe on to something with skinks. I was thinking about a blue tounge but I don't think their nocturnal.

Yeah, skinks may be as close as it gets...

Pink Tongue Skinks are primarily nocturnal....but they are omnivorous. Close!

I would say thats probally it then. I mean its well documented that even Green Iguanas(A speces considered Herbivorus) will eat a cricket as a juvie for that little bit of protien.
