Welcome.. to answer your question on biting i think when u go to a store(petco)and look at the ball pythons they are usally being messed with all day so they are more stressed out and scared so that is why they are striking...if u can, i would try to catch a expo and you can see how kool they really are and you will get a great snake from a good breeder.. to your question on having a cat my cat is fine and the snakes dont seem to mine..hope this helps a little.... you will get alot more help from all the great members on here this is a great site to learn from...and welcome again..
