Females trying to lock?

I have 2 normal females both breeding size 1300 grams and around 2300 grams.. and a male bumblebee i just picked up.. untill i can buy a rack system i have them together in a 40 breeder.. anyways the two larger females appear to be trying to lock. but both are deff females. should i remove one of the females and just keep my male with her or do people sometimes keep 2 females with one male? sorry new to this.. what do you think i should do? thanks.

Well since you have them together in 1 tank, I guess the QT process went out the window , you need to separate them into their own enclosures, and pray the new snake that you brought in is healthy, and that you haven't exposed them to anything.

Pray like heck you go lucky and none of them have a transmittable disease or mites.

When you say the two trying to lock are deff females can I ask how you checked/ found out?

And, even for animals you have had for a while one snake per enclosure really does work out better for the animals. I know it is only temporary till you buy a rack but you completely bypassed any sensible quarantine and, to be honest, should have bought the rack before the other snakes.

It's a pain and it can be frustrating but it really will save you a lot of heartache as your collection grows. And you need to try and get a quarantine area with either a rack or a viv in a seperate room if you can - I use 90 days as a QT period but 30 is the absolute minimum.

Do you know how to probe and or pop so you know for a fact the two females are truly females or are you taking others word for it?

I'm glad before I really got into this I had the proper space and funds before I started to attempt to house 3+ snakes...

I understand the hobby is very addicting but everyone needs to have the switch in there head that says omg I can get a deal on so and so then they do it. But you need to think one more mouth to feed one more possibly snake that will need to go to the vet... I set aside strictly 500$ for vet/housing equipment when I decided to expand. I never let the funds get below 300 I dont care if I'm dying for something new.

The snakes all came from the same person just two different dates that are kept together I had not planned on purchasing these 3 at the show and went and bought a 40 breeder untill my rack comes in I tried to purchase a rack at the show and had no luck so I understand I should have seperate etc and qt them but however I got the deal and couldn't pass it up. As far as them both being females yes I seen thm both get popped and the larger female is the one trying to lock with the other female she is obviously not locked and succesful she is just showing sings of trying to breed. The male is a lot smaller than she is and I'm buying another tank after work to house him in as I didn't expect this reaction right away.

I never said money was an issue and I cannot afford a rack system I simply said they did not have the rack system I want at the show so now I have to order one.

If I were you I would probe them or have them probed. An adult male can be very hard to pop and maybe he just couldn't get it to pop but it is indeed a male. If you probe them on both sides it should be definite if its male or female. If they are both females I don't see what it would hurt to leave them together until your rack comes in. I would feed them in separate enclosures to avoid any problems there.
