I use the PE2, which is basically the same model but with a laser so you can see where you're pointing, and it's absolutely great. I'm told this one is just as accurate, and I love mine.

I went to Home Depot and picked one up made by Ryobi. It was only 20 or 30 bucks and after some initial tests I was sold. I really like it and thought it was totally worth the price, plus you wont have to wait/pay for shipping!

We use this gun and like it. Measures temps just as good as the high dollar ones. I have been using ours about 4 years.

Most IR guns are the same they all have an accuracy of +/- 2ºF give or take the PE2 is a touch better at 1.8ºF If you want to get better and spend the big bucks a fluke gun can get with in 1ºF but once you are at that point (and I seriously doubt anyone would be at that point) a Fluke ir camera is cheaper and more accurate and hey it is way cool, but I think I'd rather have a pair of BELs myself.

The end advise pick one, I'd actually go with the PE2 as it is slightly more accurate.

I have a fluke temp gun and also the pe-1. the pe-1 is right on with the fluke. Picked up the fluke off of craigslist new in box for 42 dollars. couldn't pass it up. the pe-1 works just fine.

I have had the PE-1 for about 18 months now and have had no problems with it. I am still very happy with it.
