    Still hasn't pooped...

    Hey guys,

As I mentioned earlier, my BP Shrike still hasn't pooped... He's eaten about 8 mice since his last BM. Been almost a month and a half now... and he's got a really hard lump by his vent, his vent even seems to bulge out of place now. I've soaked him in warm water a few times but it doesn't seem to help .

    What do?

    Cheers,
    Fatal

Does he look like he is getting ready to shed?

He is indeed going into shed... but that was only as of a couple days ago. I just don't want to hold out on taking him to a vet and end up hurting him. When do I need to take him in?

    Cheers,

    Re: Still hasn't pooped...

How old is your BP? When they are young and growing fast they often won't poop very often -- it seems as though much of the food goes towards growing and they don't poop too much. I picked up a craigslist rescue about a year ago. She was very underfed, and she ate a good sized rat once a week after I got her, and she didn't poop for a month after I got her.

Often times they will have a good dump the same time they shed. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a nice hefty BM along with his upcoming shed. If he still doesn't do his business after his shed then I'm not sure what to tell you.
