How do you determine the right size prey?
I don't have bloods but have been looking at pictures of bloods tonight and wondering:
How do you determine the size of their prey?
Is it based off of their width like with other snakes? They just look so ROBUST compared to their head!! This question is totally out of curiosity.

Re: How do you determine the right size prey?
Just like with other snakes, you don't want a prey item much bigger than them at their widest point
1.0 Normal - Maynard
1.0 POG - Victor
0.1 YB - Diana
0.1 Pastel Boa - Astrid
1.0 Salmon Boa -
1.1 Leopard Geckos
0.3.2 Inverts

How wide are they really? They look HUGE in pictures. Are we talking rabbits for adults?

That doesn't work for adult bloods. Believe it or not they're fine with a rat every two weeks...

And not anything larger than a MEDIUM RAT
Ive fed huge rats, as well as rabbits to my Bloods.
I prefer the rats myself due to cost and convenience of feeding.
i also didnt like cleaning up rabbit after the snake digested it, just a weird mess. Not really solid poop.....

Do you feed your Borneo's lager meals than your Blood's? just curious, I know some feed Borneo's rabbits and get MASSIVE clutches every year.

No, they eat the same size.
I HAVE fed my Borneo's rabbits before just the same as the Bloods.
But do I feed one species more so than the other? No
