    Mom killing an entire litter

Hey there, two of my adult female rats got pregnant just about at the same time. I pulled them from their 1.3 group and set them up in a tub together. The first mom gave birth to 18 pups and four days later the second mom gave birth to 7 pups. I fed two of them off that day but when I did a baby count today I found I was only down to 14 pups and all of them were from the first litter. What should I do? Does this happen often? The moms were only housed together as adults and hadn't spent a good deal of their life together. Any advice is appreciated.

leave them in the 1.3 group do not move them they will be fine. If that female eats another litter cull her and raise up another.
