Switching to frozen...

Well, my dreaded switching process has finally started...I got my frozen rats from big cheese so wish me best of luck! all but one of my balls are total pigs. Last week, my albino ate a live mouse. Sunday, she refused a fresh killed mouse. So, I froze it and thawed it out. I tried to feed her today. (So far all my snakes have done fine eating in the day time in a dark room.) It turns out, every snake on my rack was getting amped up over the thawed mouse....except for her!!!

After 20 minutes, I took it out and tossed it to my bumble bee. He was following going nuts when he saw me take the mouse out of his rack-mates tub. At least the mouse was not wasted I guess the good news is that I have 4 fatass baby snakes.

Should I try and hold out and get her to switch or just let her eat live? She has a very weak feeding response compared to the others. Is 4 out of 5 good enough? Also, I can only get live mice or small rats. No live pups. at 250g how long should I let her go without food? I'm much more concerned with her health than my convenience.

I weight mine every week (I know that is more than needed) so I offer live IF they miss 3 feedings OR I see more weight loss than I would like.
I also feed every 5 days.

I have mine eating every 5 days too, I was just anxious to get her to eat. I think maybe I'm just a little paranoid. All their temps are fine, they don't seem stressed. The others pound food like no tomorrow. Except for this one snake? Maybe an albino thing? She was very cautious when eating live even! lol I wonder if different morphs have different attitudes?

Try leaving the f/t rodent in over night. Sometimes they just don't want to be watched while they are eating.

She may be one of the ones that never switches to live, and there are some that just don't. You can also try offering one live item (small) and one frozen thawed right after she eats that one. Also, make sure your f/t items are warm enough Food luck!

I got my albino to take f/t a few times by leaving it in her tank over night...unfortunately she then refused to take them anymore. I'm trying to get her back on the frozen but nothing seems to work - she's scared of the tongs.

I'll try leaving it over night If that does not work, I'll try live, then frozen!
