Hello everyone.
Just want to start by saying that I have wanted a BP for a long time.
I used to to live in Toronto, Canada and at the time(and still might be) banned.
I moved to Oklahoma about five years ago and have always wanted one. I took care and caught Garter snakes, but have always wanted a constrictor. I am glad to say I received on as a present on Christmas.
It was bought from Petsmart and I named him Jack.
He is so docile that no matter what you do, he is fine with it.
Here in Oklahoma you can by FT mice for these great pets. The are called:
Frozen pinkies(hairless babies)
Frozen furries(small but furry)
And another size
I love this guy/girl (have not taken it to the vet yet)!
He/she is very happy and loves to eat any time I feed it. I just upped his diet to a frozen furry once a week.
It shed the other day for the first time. It went very well, except the head and eyes. It finally shed all of it and seems very content!
My question is, which I am sure can not be done, but estimate the grams it might way. I do not have a scale and do not want it to be hungry.
It is 22 inches long and the thickest part of his body is 3.5 inches in circumference. Is their a way to estimate his weight in grams?
I have heard that 10-20% of its body weight is fine, in terms of food amount.
I only got him for a pet and not breeding.
Can anyone guesstimate his weight?
Should I feed him more?
Any responses would be greatly appreciated!
