Not feeding?!?!?!? Please help!!!!!
Ok guys so i got a normal ball python about 2 weeks ago at a reptile expo. it is a male and is n a twenty gallon long tank with two hides, a waterbowl big enough for it to soak in, and aspen bedding. i keep the tank covered so that way the nake feels secure. I tried to feed a small rat to himand he didnt take it, then i left him alone for another week and then tried again. still didn't eat!!!!!!!
he nly six months old and im scared for his health. he has temps of 9 on the hot side and 80 on the cool side. he has humidity of 60%
What shuld i do to make him feed?
Any input is appreciated

Two weeks really is nothing to worry about. How much does your snake weigh? My male normal just came off a 20 day fast last night. He used to take f/t small rats, then he moved to live small rats, and now he is on adult live mice. Soemtimes you just have to try what works for the snake.

Stressed from being taken to the show, stressed from the new environment. You have not given it any time to adjust. 2-3-even 4 weeks may go by before a new snake eats. If it wont eat a rat, get a live mouse or girbil. Feed it 2-3 mice then try rat pups again. Save the box the mouse came in if you get one from a store, put the box in the feeding tub then put the rat in, it will think the rat is a mouse and there you go its eating rats. And a water bowl to soak in...they dont soak unless they have mites. They drink it...
Its winter, my biggest girl went off feed for 7 months last season and in that time gained 400g. She is now going on 4mo. If it is really small and it starts to lose weight force feed it, but only at a last resort. This will stress it more than its new home.
