    I think my female reabsorbed

So my normal female was locking up with my male spider until November and then she just stopped. She also hasn't eaten since november. She was glowing and shedding and doing all of the right things but then she suddenly lost 200 grams and is continuing not to eat and not to breed and now she looks skinny but still weighs 1500 grams so I'm not too worried, just a little upset about not having little baby spiders slithering around

They'll never do what you want them to, haha, it's their prerogative in life to confuse and frustrate us.

    Cheers,

Sometimes female refuse breeding once they are close palpate her and see around how big the follicles feel, if she has any! Just have to point this out , no offense to you as we use to say it until someone pointed it out to us, there is no such thing as reabsorbing she would have to grow follicles, then absorb follicles, then grow follicles again, then reabsorb them, but even then they are not the same follicles

Re: I think my female reabsorbed

That's too bad. As stated above...Palpate her to verify there are no follicles present.

I also had a girl reabsorb this season. I felt 7 small follicles 1-2 months ago...Now there are no follicles present. It happens.

Even if you thing she absorbed them I'd still be putting the male in with her. It's still way too early in the season to be giving up on a female. Just cause you don't see them breed anymore doesn't mean its not happening.

yea I have still been putting them together, but I havent seen them do anything since November. I can not feel anything when I palpate, but I wouldn't really trust that beacuse I don't really know what I am feeling for. I have watched the videos but I am more of a "i have to feel it myself" learner.
What makes me think she is not buidlng is the weight loss. Don't females who are building usually gain weight?
