Time to eat a big meal?
I have a 10ft burmese python and I just gave her a large hen. The hen wasn't more than about the size of her girth maybe slightly more. She's been trying to eat this hen for about an hour. She has her mouth over her and is making headway. I'm just worried that this hen is too large. She's been eating primarily jumbo rats.
Will they give up if they can't get it down or what? Anything to look out for? This is the first large prey item she's had

Re: Time to eat a big meal?
Oh phew, yeah, comparing the rabbit to your snake VS the chicken and my snake, my snake's prey is much smaller compared to her size. She got it down finally and actually doesn't look too bad. When I got her she was very hungry. I think this will definitely help!! I just got her a few weeks ago! She'll be sticking to rabbits from now on with the occasional chicken here and there.

Should be fine, snakes can judge pretty spot on for themselves what is too big, and what is their next meal. Best of luck!

If it's the first hen you'd offered, your burm may just be trying to figure it out. =)
