Unhappy My Jazz got out of his tank, and no sign of him.not feeling very good about it

A week ago I went about my usual routine of feeding my juvi male BP.usually i am pretty good at securing his tank.Well I sat down while he did his thing, and after spending another 10 plus hours plowing out yet another foot of snow up here in the Boston area,I was out cold in seconds, woke up about 2am secured the tank asuming he was back in his hide, went to bed.830 am next day wife calls at work and says.....Wheres the snake?..knot in stomach.the usual O S#$$! Well i have torn my house up looking for him.still no sign of him.Biggest problem is i have an autistic daughter who isnt taking this to well and its breaking our hearts.Im sure i am in good company with alot of you that this has happened to.question to you all is any advice? accept that you might never find him and when do you move on?...Thanks for any input

Put your cage on the floor, lid open and heat on. Put a prey item on top of it or next to it, they can smell from far away and after eating will want to go somewhere warm.

I would do a search on here for snake escapes. There are a ton of stories about snakes that have gotten out of their enclosures with tons of advice and tips on how to find them.

    Good luck!

This has happened to me more than once LOL,

what really helps is looking in places that are warm, like behind the fridge. They also like squeezing themselves in cramped spaces to feel secure, so check any place that you think a snake can fit through.

I found my Pastel female underneath one of my dressers trying to fit into a paper towel roll LOL! So definitely check anywhere that you think they can get into.

Good luck trying to find your little snake, and keep your hopes up.

If your snake is fairly small, you'd be amazed at what tiny places they can squeeze into.

Start near where it was last seen, and search with a magnifying glass. Look under, around and inside everything, no matter how unlikely it seems the snake may be there. I've seen pictures of escaped snakes where all you can see is about 2" of snake side, kind of like the where's Waldo pictures.

Snakes will seek out warmth, so check any nearby source of heat.

Keep us posted on your search.

I know how you feel! Lol! I lost my Ball about 2 weeks ago, I was SO heart broken... I tried leaving a heat pad with a towel over it, and his hide on top of that, no luck. After 4 nights when everyone had gone off to bed, my brother in law walks in from getting something out of his car and sees him out and about. Where was he? On top of our DVD tower! Very good climbers they are, lol! Now I make sure I have pins where they are supposed to be.
