Re: Rats - Colors and Coat Markings
I know I don't have anything like the colors you guys have, but here's what I've got:
A black one (female, not sure of exact name, but she's not a husky. Haven't checked her feet to see if they are all black, but I think her belly is white.)
Mostly beige hooded/seal point and black hooded
Sorry no pics. LOL
I did wonder about something though . . . I've held back some female beige hoodeds to adulthood to use as breeders in the past (that's what most of my adult female breeders are now). Anyway, they started out as beige hooded, but they faded as they aged to seal points (if I am remembering correctly--in any case, they have tannish spots at the base of the tail and the tip of the nose). I noticed you guys had discussed this with the siamese, but has anyone else noticed the beige hooded ones doing this, or do yours hold their color as adults?
Btw, I don't really name mine, because I am afraid I will get too attached and not be willing to feed them off. Not as much of a problem with the breeders, since they don't get fed off, but still. LOL I did name the boys Head Chef 1, 2, 3 and the girls Sous Chef 1, 2, 3, etc. The young ones that I'm holding back are either Head- or Sous-Chefs-in-Training. haha
