Really cheap bumblebee

Just wanted to start by saying, I have no intention of purchasing this snake. My friend just texted me and said that a local reptile store has a bumblebee for sale for $125. I asked if she'd gotten any pictures of the snake and she said no, but that she had seen it in person and held it. His reason for selling it at such a low price....he has too many he says. I'm still floored. Bumblebees normally sell for a few hundred. He breeds them and says he's selling a few for really cheap because he has too many and wants to sell them.

So your thoughts? Do breeders sell their animals for really cheap to move them faster if they have "too many"?

I would, when I start to fully produce BELs I plan to sell them at dramatically low prices simply because I'm not in it for the money.

Just because you are not in it for the money, does not mean you have to cut your prices like crazy. I'm not into breeding snakes for the money either but I will sell my snakes at normal market price. And also, when you slash the prices like that you tend to help bring the market down for those who are trying to make a little money to help support their snake habit.

I would think that her may be "in a bind" one way or another. Either he needs more cash flow or more space? It would be worth looking at

If I brought in one more snake, my husband would kill me. I've already bought my dinker, and rescued a corn snake. Not to mention, I need to buy more racks so I have space for more snakes, otherwise, I might consider sneaking him home. But I just feel like there might be something wrong with him. $125 just seems so cheap.

Wouldnt hut for you and hubby to "go check the place out" Then decide from there.

on the other tread we where just talking about cheap bee. I would wonder what kind of color it is going to have as it grows up. It seems fishes to me. always trust your gut. How old is it and does it eat ect. Flags are flying with me

That is one reason I never "meet" anyone anyplace other than their breeding area, be it their home or where ever. I want to also see the conditions their animals a kept in. If they dont want me in their (home) then they dont want my money in their wallet.

I wasn't planning on buying him and I'm going to pass on him. If I want a bumblebee I'm going to go out and find one that is stunning. I have asked for a picture of the snake since I can't go to the store to see it, so If I get a picture of it, I'll let you guys know how it looks.
