    Talking Here's a big hello!

Hi, everyone! My name is Kat, I live in Texas but I attend the Savannah College of Art and Design, so during the school year I am in Georgia! (away from my herps..sniff!)

This isn't the first reptile forum I have joined but.. You know, I love ball pythons, and even though I only have one(Our sweet 'little' angel, Maru, she's a normal ball) I know that in the future I will have more!

I was officially introduced to reptiles as pets thanks to my boyfriend when I met him 3 years ago. He had one leopard gecko, Bobby Jack, the most awesome thing ever. I had no idea reptiles were so cute! Bobby got sick and he was old, so he died soon after I met him.. Heart breaking! When I left for college Nathan and I decided to get a new gecko.. Now we have three leopard geckos, a ball python, a pacman frog, and a common boa! Plus two bettas, a cockatiel, a couple cats, and about 2000 breeding mealworms!

It's quite a busy life, but it's a lot of fun! I love all our furry, scaley, slimy, and feathery pets, and so do our families and friends!

As soon as I get home from college for spring break I will be building our boa her permanent enclosure, she is only a hatchling right now, but I'd rather be ready for her big cage too early than too late! She is a guaranteed girl, so I'd like to make it big enough for her to be comfortable if she decides to get big on us!

Since this is a ball python forum I might as well introduce my ball right? Well, actually I don't have any good pictures of her right now, only phone pictures I could show. But anyway, she's a normal ball python, but she has an incredible amount of contrast for a normal which has only gotten more dramatic as she has gotten older! Now.. of course I am rather biased so I believe she is the most beautiful normal girl in the world but you know..she is!

Some of the few awful pictures I have of her! We took her outside when it was warm for just a little bit during the early fall when we got her.. It's fun to get some pictures in natural sunlight anyway

That is my boyfriend's hand hehe! She's actually grown a LOT now! She started to look uncomfortable in her 20 gallon tank, so we decided..why not. And now she has a nice big 55 gallon tank to roam as she wishes! She's very active and uses every last inch of that tank. We are trying to get her switched over to f/t but so far are having no luck.. She won't even take f/k. I know, it's time for some tough love. We haven't pushed her very hard, and we need to, but we got her in terrible conditions(wild caught, covered in tics, RI, stuck sheds, etc. We didn't know much about reptiles when we got her...What a wakeup call!!) She actually didn't eat ANYTHING for us for 6 months after we got her so we were just glad she would eat anything. Now she eats like a pro, so we are hoping she will make the switch without too much trouble.. But you know ball pythons, they are stubborn!

Anyway, that's me. I felt like typing a lot, I apologize for the novel! Long story short, I'm new and I'll likely be sticking around for a while! I love genetics and learning about breeding is great.. I know I'm not prepared for something like that yet.. But I would love to one day try, at least to have the experience of hatching out a dream morph..how cool!
