As most said if you get PCS orders just tub em all and move them with you. Of course check any states laws beforehand. FYI no snakes are allowed in HI. Also shipping them overseas? Forget about it, nearly impossible and if you do it's even harder to get them back into the states.
After we both got out of service we moved to CT. We were stationed at FT Hood, TX. We had several turtles/torts, an Iguana, a dozen or so snakes, about 500gal of fish tanks worth of fish, a parrot and 4 dogs not to mention 2 kids. We had our house hold goods shipped and we moved all of our animals in a mini and a full size van. Needless to say we lost about 2k in fish some of which were a few years old. Everyone else was fine and transitioned with no troubles. The loss of the fish was pretty devastating though. One day I'd like to have another fish set up again that could rival what we previously had.

Re: Any military members out there?

When I transferred, I bought a converter for the car(SUV) and hooked up heat mats to a T-stat, Stacked all the tubs in the cargo area and stopped periodically to check temps and such. All of mine made trip with no issues.
