    eye cap

My bp just finished shedding one eye is clear and the other still has its cap on. Is there any way to get the cap off, safely. I know the humidity was bad during the whole processes...

Instead of risking damage to the eye, just wait til the next shed, & be sure to increase the humidity, it should come off.

    Re: eye cap

Are you sure it's an eye cap or just the eye?

    Re: eye cap

Grab a pillow case and a wash cloth. Dampen the wash cloth and put it and your snake into the pillow case. Tie the pillow case into a good sturdy knot. Place the pillowcase back into the snake's enclosure over night. Untie the pillow case and remove your snake. Hopefully, the retained eye cap will be gone. If not, leave the snake alone and hopefully the next shed will remove the eye cap. Do not pick at the eye cap, do not use tape on the eye cap, leave it alone. More snakes have been permenantly injured by well meaning owners trying to remove a retained eye cap.

    Good Luck!
