    A few questions

Do they all have such amazing personalities? I've owned a ton of reptiles in my life and I must say that beardies hands down are becoming my favorite. I have never had a reptile act like a puppy. I put my hand in her tank and she comes running over to hop in my palm to get pet and when it's time to go back in she just starts trying to climb out of the tank to get back to me. Ok now to a few quick questions.

Will that calm and gentle personality stay with her through adulthood?

Would you recommend a beardie to someone who has never kept reptiles before? A friend of mine lives in a place they don't allow dogs or cats but they said nothing about a bearded dragon lol.

Should I be offering dusted crickets everyday? Also how many crickets on average should she be eating? I offer her about 3-5 at a time and i'd say she has only eaten maybe 5-10 a day so far before she just leaves them alone.

Last question I promise. I bought her a big wood log looking thing with elevated climbing space so she could judge where he basking temp should be however she likes it all the way at the top of the branch and I notice when she gets up there she keeps lifting her feet off the branch constantly. The basking temp is usually a steady 105 is that too hot? Also after a good long bask she likes dive off the branch onto the cage floor is that normal?

Sorry for all the questions. I'd rather ask then just wing it especially with my new little buddy here.

I would say his personality should stay the same. They are very interactive typically if you have an aggressive one then you can tame it down. But if he is acting like this I would say your good. When they do get older though they will let you know when they don't like something though...wait till his first black beard....lol

As far as the basking temp....it is a smidge high. When they lift their feet up it is because they can feel it and its too hot. They do not have censors (so to speak) on their bellies....they do on their feet though.

With feeding....when they are little you want them to eat 80% protien and 20% greens. When they are adult that switches around the other way. Right now as a wee one....you want to offer crickets every day....as many as she will eat in 15 minutes. Make sure not to leave crickets in there with her unsupervised as they can attack him and eat at his toes or tail. Always always always dust your crickets w calcium w D3 and once a week dust with a multi vitamin. The only time you would use calcium w/out D3 is if you are using an all in one bulb like PowerSun or Mega Ray, T Rex, one that has UVA and UVB.

As far as a first pet....I would say absolutely!!! These make great pets for kids or adults. They have so much personality its amazing!!!! Just make sure your friend realizes its an everyday committment. If she goes on vacation...she has to find a sitter. Its chopping veggies everyday, cleaning, taking care of crickets as well.

Ok think I answered it all...if you have any more questions please feel free to ask away.

Thank you for such a quick and detailed response! I just noticed that she is starting to shed and started rubbing herself on everything in the tank. Guess shes going to be a big dragon sooner than I'd like
