the responses I got mostly said it was completely fine to keep them on sand. Since their Sand boas, of course they can live in sand. They're made for it.

I keep my female on Sani-Chips (very fine cut aspen bedding) because it sort of resembles sand in a way, but I like it much better than sand and it's easy to burrow in.

I feed her in it too and have no problems. So you can switch to sand if you'd like, but just regular aspen is fine too as long as you keep temps & humidity where they need to be.

Oh, ok! I always knew the answer to that question, because just like you said their built for it. But I wanted to see what people usually keep them on, and why they don't use sand. I use aspen now, but its lame lol. I was looking into the sani-chips actually for my balls, how do you like it?
