Im getting frustrated (feeding problem)
Ok so here is the dillema guys have a total of 4 snakes 1 boa the rest bp's I have a pastel, spider, and a yb.
The Yb is prolly 3 weeks old and i tried to feed it after a week of getting settled and that was a no go he just hides in a bp ball. so i waited about 2 weeks and tryed a rat pub and STILL he would not eat it
The spider is the worst he went off feed prolly a month ago and he is now back to eating but yet again today its been about two weeks i tryed giving him a weaned rat and yep you guessed it he didnt eat he will sniff and sniff but no strike.
I feed f/t to all my snakes and i have dethawed about 4 different ways and all the ways i get the same result. The other thing about it is that all the snakes have been on f/t since they were little tiny babies what is going on
all the snakes are in the 300 to 700 gram range and are all in 12 to 15 qt tubs and the heat is right on the humidity ranges from 50 to 70

Re: Im getting frustrated (feeding problem)
I'd bump the 700 gram size up to 28/34 quart tubs and give them hides till they ate better, do you use hides now?
I only use them with slightly pickier snakes which it sounds like your qualify as...
You say the yb is 3 weeks old
You waited a week to feed it and no go so you waited 2 more weeks and no go.
Did you purchase an unfed brand new hatchling yb?

Re: Im getting frustrated (feeding problem)
If you use hides now that's fine, i just prefer in tubs to not use them unless a snake is a picky eater.
Are your hides tight fitting?
IMO a ball python that is 700 grams needs more room than a 15qt tub offers, but it's just that, an opinion

Agreed. One of my 700g females looks pretty small in her 32qt, but I couldn't imagine her being comfortable in a 15. Her soaking bowl wouldn't even fit in there, let alone her.
OP: Have you tried pre-scenting, or mice/ASFs?

Try giving your YB a bath with some luke warm water before feeding. Its a trick I have been doing that a friend told me about and so far its seemed to work. Give it a shot, what do you have to loose

When you feed, do you stand over and watch them? I've had pretty good luck with either leaving them in the dark or covering the tub with a towel to give them more privacy.
I've never heard of the bath idea. I typically leave the snakes alone on feeding day to make sure they're not going to stress out and be picky.
