    Burm wont eat rats

Okay so i took a rescue burm in off of craigslist last august. She was in BAD shape and was only 6 months old. She was dehydrated and underweight. They dude had purchased her from prehistoric pets and she bit him the next day and it freaked him out and he forgot about her.

She is back hydrated and of decent weight, but i for the life of me cant get her to eat rats! She will take adult mice off of tongs every so ofen but usually i end up feeding her 3 or 4 large hoppers live a week.

I just dont know how to get her to eat rats! Once she was back to a healthy size i let her try and starve her self while offering her a rat every week like always and she hit and wrapped one, but once it died she left it alone and after that every once in a while i will throw her a rat to see if shell eat it but she just shows no interest :/ Any suggestions?

and before anyone says this Ive tried throwing rat pups in with the mice before i try and feed. Ive tried live/dead/big/small rats. Im really on the fence here aout what to do

I wouldnt worry to much about it at the moment. Sounds like shes been through some rough stuff. Just be glad shes eating anything.

Thats true, also try braining a mouse and rubbing it on the rat. Before you rub on rat give the rat a bath with baby shampoo, then rub mouse parts on the rat.

    How big is she?

There might be a prey item that she will eat that you haven't thought about.

Because of the size she will grow to be, I would try rabbits, as soon as she is big enough for pinkies. You can buy them frozen, but I would try starting her on live.
