    Good deal on these racks?

I found a guy selling some home made racks. They are made out of melamine wood, and each rack has 11 inch flexwatt running down the back wall. $150 for each rack. This would be my first rack, but it seems like a steal, right?

Depending on how many tubs it holds, it is not a steal, but it is also not a bad price. If it holds 10 or 11 tubs, it probably cost around $100 to build.

looks like there's 7 tubs per rack. That's not too bad especially if you aren't very good at building your own or don't want to spend the time.

Here is a 12 slot rack, with back heat it cost around $110 to make

If the guy were selling all the racks for $150 it would be a deal, pass & make your own

Re: Good deal on these racks?

Did you see these in the LA area Craigslist? I saw the same ad. My only concern is that the heat is running down the back wall. I think it would be better to have belly heat so that the snakes can digest properly. I am not a handy person at all so I would probably jump on this IF it had belly heat.

Snakes don't need belly heat to digest properly...

Re: Good deal on these racks?

I am no expert by any means but most people on this message board recommend an under the tank heater for tubs or tanks. A lot of racks are built with belly heat so that the snake can have a basking spot to warm up and properly digest. Right now I have tanks and it wouldn't really help the health of my snake if the UTH was on the side. Is it wrong to assume that?
