So what's your opinion on this?

So, my 3 month old has been settled in for about a month now. Temps are good ( high side at 90-92, cool side at 80-82 and humidity between 60-70 %). She has two hides, a small branc to climb on, water dish.

So went through a shed about 2 weeks ago and it wasn't a easy shed, but it is all off her now. She ate on Friday ( she is on a 5 day schedule ). Starting Sunday she has been VERY active both day and night. All over her tank. Working her way via the stick and without it up to the top screen at times, other times just in one hide out to the other and around the tank. She seems to be going to the top screen a lot.

So this went on Sunday, Monday and yesterday. I figured on Monday that MAYBE she was stil lhungry but didn't want to try and feed her until Tuesday. I tried a F/T rat pup and no dice, she wouldn't take it. She struk it right off the bat, held it in her mouth and didn't even coil on it, and after about 5 mins let it go.

So today, I kept with the live feed and up'ed the size. She ate it right away and I even offered her another which she ate as well. Put her back in her tank and she went right to her hide. Then less then a hour later, right back to being all over the tank for the last 2 hours or so.

She appears fine, no sign of RI, body is free of any mites or bites. All seems normal with her other then she is just VERY VERY active. I did take her out multiple times over Sunday Monday and yesterday and she really seemed to enjoy being out.

So, any ideas what is up? Or did I just get a snake who sleeps as little as I do? Anything you guys can think of I should be concerned about?

Weight wise she is 90g empty ( she was WAY underfed when I got her and has put on approx 30g in a month).

My snakes will do the same thing after feeding. They are still in feeding mode and smell the prey item, so they do tend to wander around.
As long as your temps are right... It's normal, nothing to worry about

Re: So what's your opinion on this?

It could be that she's still in feeding mode, like what was said above. I've seen this more in younger snakes, they tend to calm down a teensy bit as they age.

It could also be, as you stated, that she's still a bit hungry and it might be time to up the food size.

Either way, nothing to worry about as long as your husbandry is right and you didn't change anything.

Respiratory Infection. As long as your temps are right and humidity is up where it should be, then your snake should be fine.

Ok, I can get her doing this after feeding, but she has been at this for 4 days straight, day and night. She was roaming her cage for almost 5 hours straight last night. Went into her hide for abut and hour and a half and then back out ALL day today!

RI = Respiratory Infection, you'll want to look for things like mucous or bubbling in the mouth and nostrils, and listen for audible wheezing/popping when they breathe. It's most commonly caused by temperatures that are too low or humidity that is too low.
