    Diaries of a Gizmo....part...4

Well as you all know Gizmo has a way of getting himself into all kinds of big trouble. Well I think he has topped it with the hubby this time. In fact after this one....you all might understand why I think intervention between my son and husband my happen sooner than not.

Gizmo has his daily routine...sleeps in his bedroom....we wake him up in the morning with greens which he looks at and that seems to brighten his day. He eventually crawls down from his sleeping perch and has a snack then goes back up to his perch for about an hour. Then he eventually ventures out into the family room to sun and sleep on the back of the couch. He usually gets down at some point in the late afternoon and wanders BACK into his bedroom. Eats the rest of his plate and goes back to his perch.

Well we have been trying to work with the whole potty in the cage thing as he is NEVER in his cage that was given to me when I started baby sitting him. Frankly it is too small for him and lets face it....such a high profile iggy such as he is, a mansion is the ONLY thing in order. Basically his mansion is our entire laundry room which is equipped with his special lights that he needs and plenty of room for him.

Ok back to the potty training. We have gotten him to crawl in his cage a couple of time and go potty. But I have been a little worried as I have not seen him go in a couple of days. Well scratch that. We came home today and went upstairs to find that it did not smell very good. After about a 1/2 hour looking we found his spot....tucked away behind and half way under the couch was his new potty spot. OYE!!!!! Disgusting...and the worst was ....my husband found it. (Those of you that know about my hubby...anal retentive military man who once thought there was a spot in the shower and continued to scrub it until he figured out he scrubbed a hole in the grout) Amazingly enough he kept his cool and did not loose all control. Phew...but needless to say....Gizmo has lost some of his freedoms. Naughty lil poo hider!!

Gizmo has also got to experience the great outdoors. I can only imagine this was a first for him as he looked like he was all juiced up on wild. Climbing bushes...jumping from one thing to another and checking out whatever those flying things were. Finally he came to a spot in front of the house and decided that this "throne" was good enough for him.

All in all he had a great time until he got too hot and did not know what to do other than look at me and pant. (Which for iggys...not good) We rushed him in and put him on the tile where he decided it felt sooooooooo good he had to push his legs out and flop the belly down. Unfortunatley...no pics of the sexy legs...but yes...it is as funny looking as it sounds.

The next fun time in Gizmo world and the reason I believe my son and hubby are going to have an "Gizzy go home" intervention is this....

    What is this you ask....

No we didn't suddenly have an earth quake in AZ. This bounding metropolis lego city was toppled by no other than....

Yes the Giz! I had to tell my son that his entire city...equipped with a fire and police station, a boat dock, a condo, shops and construction zone was brought down to ashes by no other than Gizmo. Needless to say it didn't go well. At one point he looked at me and said..."Mom...really Do you need ALL of these reptiles" But all in all it wasn't that bad...he forgave Gizmo after a serious "talk" with him. I think Gizmo was quite responsive to it...

Anal retentive military man...Sounds like my kind of guy. Although, he may need glasses, there's nothing wrong with being a perfectionist.

And I know you'd never have him any other way.

Good luck to all concerned, Gizmo included,
    Jim Smith

Funny from afar. I know I wouldn't have the patience to deal with Gizmo and his adventures.
