Anything under a year I'm usually feeding every 4 days. Over a year 5-7, might switch back to 4 if they are still small. 1000+ grams depends, males are usually every 14 days, females are every 7, but if they had eggs and need to gain weight, they are back on the 4 day schedule. That's just my practices in a nutshell.
Oh, and I'm breeding, so this is a heavier feeding schedule than people who keep bps for pets would do.
This is pretty much as i thought for breeding purposes
But pet feeding is also what i thought it would be
I suppose some look at it as power feeding but hey thats up to them
From then on, females get fed every 7 days, and males get fed every 10-14 days. Males make much more consistent breeders if they're more trim and less overweight.
It's important to note prey size. I don't feed small meals.
These are also general guidelines I use for myself. I'll switch things up for individual animals based on their appearance, activity/apparent hunger, breeding cycle/putting on weight after laying eggs, and if they've come off of a food strike.
