    Craigs List Ad 01/09/2011

"Bought from PetSmart approx 5 months ago-kids not interested in it so wish to rehome. eats small live mice, one every other week or so. tame, docile. comes with tank and tank decor. Please email if interested. thank you."
Well, I responded that day and got a hall from her last night.
My son and I loaded up and went to take a look to see whats up.
They did everything that PetSmart told them to do!:
1-They bought the Zilla 20L snake kit (good for me because it matches 3 of my other tanks)
    2-They fed the snake................

Now I felt bad for the family and "It".
Temp in tank was about 85 degrees, and the humidity was a whopping 30%.
The water bowl was the tiny little one that comes with the kit.
And fed one small mouse every TWO to THREE weeks!!!

"It" felt like there was a bad shed (kinda felt rough all over and eyes are blued) and I was going to try to pop to let them know if "It" was male or female. Well, there was a hard lump just north of the poo chute. I didnt want to take a chance of any injury so I left "It" alone.
I talked to them for a while and explained what was going on and what was all wrong.

They wound up giving us the entire set-up including "It".
Well, once we got home, "It" got a soaking in a warm bathtub.
"It" seemed to relax a lot and enjoyed the warm soak then the water cooled about 10 minuets later and "It" wanted nothing to do with that
I filled the tub again with a little warmer water and "It" relaxed again.............THEN IT HAPPENED!!!!!!!!!
"It" stuck it's tail straight up in the air and I found out what the hard "lump" was that I felt about an hour earlier. It was a HUGE urate. "It" strained to get it out and did so in its own. Then about 2 minuets later "It" left me a small "tootsie roll" floating too I felt so good seeing that all happen, now I know there is no impaction. Then "It" turned too cute. "It" was wagging tail, just the tip and like a dog. Really fast, kind of like "Look what I did and I feel SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better" LOL
    Right then "It" became "Wiggles"

    Sex is still unknown.
Weight is 201g (they had for 5 months so I am guessing the age might be 7 or 8 months old)

They fed night before last so I am going to let Wiggles settle in and get on my feeding schedule (so this Wednesday I will post pics when out for feeding)

We have Wiggles in the best QT we can, our bedroom because it is on the other side of the house from our other snakes and is one of the warmer rooms in the house. Need to get a UTH moved to Wiggles' tank too. (Waiting on flexwatt from Reptile Basics)

I like hearing stories like this. You did a good thing rescuing the liitle on from a bad situation. I recently got a lemon pastel from cl that had such a horrible shed. Good luck with Wiggles.

Wiggles! That's such a cute name! I bet the previous owners felt bad after they realized they weren't taking proper care of it. Good for you for rescuing and educating... and wow a wopping 201g, poor thing. Good luck with Wiggles!

Why? Why do humans always look to the sky? Why do you try so hard to fly when you don't have any wings? We'll run on our own legs. - Kiba "Wolf's rain"
