    What would You Do...?

Ok, well I figured I ask everyone's opinion and see what you would do in my situation. I currently have 2 females (1 pastel and 1 spider) that are over 2000 grams and ready to breed. The problem lies in my pastel butter male(750g+) who is suppose to be breeding both these ladies is coming up short. So my dilemma is should I try using another male or hold out and see if he comes around to get the job done. If I decide to use other males which would you choose. I currently have the following breeding males lemon blast, cinny het clown, pastel ghost, Paint Ball, mojave, and spider. Let me know what you would do in my place, as I need help deciding. Thanks in advance for all that respond.

In addition for those who aren't familiar as to what a paint ball is. It is a newer codom morph which is very subtle but when combined to make a super ends up being a very blushed out animal. I already have my male breeding 1 pastel female. Im including a link for those who have not seen the super paint.

    Re: What would You Do...?

How much time have you given your male to get the job done? It's still early in the year and he could still complete his task.

Also, there's a bunch of tricks to get your guy in the mood. One that can be done easily is to keep the female's enclosure a little messy. I didn't vote because I don't think enough information was given. If he's been put with your females just a few times, I think you need to give him some more time. If you're on your third season with the male, I may consider another sire. One more question. What is the age of the male?

    Good Luck!

    Re: What would You Do...?

Depends. on what you have on end and what projects you really want to work with.

Sometimes patience goes a long way the season is far from being over and he might surprise you. (Try tricks for stubborn breeders )

If you do not have a preference in your projects and have a male Lemon Blast I would cycle him with the females as well and keep cycling that male too and let faith decide.

Now if you are talking about buying a new male by the time QT is over you might have wish to stick to your other male.

    Like I said it depends.

Send him to me, I'll let him practice on my girls. Toss in the lemon blast and rotate him in also. Might get him to go but if not still a good pairing.
P.S. If your going to send him put the cinnamon het clown in also, just to save you on shipping.

    Re: What would You Do...?

A little more background for everyone. All the males are mine and I am not looking to add one for this season. The pastel butter(09) has been trying since october and has not shown any interest at all. I have tried all the tricks for stubborn breeders, ie.. using other males shed skin, other males sprem plugs on female back, misting, more than one female, ect.. The only thing I haven't done is put 2 males together and I don't really want to try it. I will probably continue to rotate the pastel butter in anyway but was trying to decide what other males to put in.

My lemon blast was bred to the spider last year and he is currently breeding a pastel and mojave het ghost. I was looking to see what males others would put with the females. It doesn't have to be the same male with both females either.

I have a pieblad male that was being a big pain in the butt, after rotating a few different males in he finally got in the mood and has bred three times now with my het.

I would put the Lemon Blast in with those girls for a couple hours then put your Butter in, he may start breeding if he smells the scent of another male with those girls! I would also try the Pastel Butter with another female that has locked up just to make sure its not the females that are the problem! Good luck!

If it were me, I'd start introducing the lemon blast, but then again I am a huge fan of all the "blast" complex stuff (super blasts, spinner blasts, etc.) that you could make with those pairings ...
