Breeder died
So one of my females just died. I think she died in birth. Last night it was clear she was out of it but I figured she was about to give birth I checked on her today and she was dead. The other rats look just fine but she's dead as can be.
Could I have killed her accidently when I moved her last night or did she just get a litter that was to big for her?

unless you threw her, moving her didn't kill her.
as far as why, unless you take it to a vet and get it examined (which btw I wouldn't bother with) we would only be guessing. It happens, it sucks we all know, don't worry about it, just gotta move forward.

Re: Breeder died
Moving her did not kill her, rats sometimes die while birthing all it takes is the first baby to be too big and to obstruct the birth canal etc.
It happens.

Re: Breeder died
Glad to know moving her didn't kill her. Hopefully my other female won't have the same problem.

Well, personally, I don't move a rat that's about to pop. I think it does do harm to them...
That being said, and like stated earlier, sometimes they just die while birthing.

Re: Breeder died
I have had many rats die during birth. I took good care of them, so I know that I did not do anything wrong. It just happens.
