funny lol same thing happened to me yesterday. i see my pastel is getting ready to shed and set him aside in my shed tub where humidity is a little higher and his belly before the shed and his shed after were both a reddish tint. and ive had him for over a year and never noticed.

I use paper towels fro their bedding. Its changed every time they pee or poop. I dont use wood bedding

What are you using for substrate? I use newspaper... 1. It's free! 2. Works just as well as anything else out there. 3. Easy to clean, just swap the old newspaper when your snake makes a mess with a whole new set of newspaper.

Well I've had him for a couple months and I've never actually replaced his bedding. I layed newspaper all over the bottom, then covered it with about 3/4 of an inch of aspen snake bedding.

P.s., I always remove his waste from the cage

But their waste has no liquid so I just remove the waste. And I use aspen snake bedding so how often should I replace it all?

They do have some liquid pee. I would replace at least monthly, when I used aspen I replaced and cleaned every two weeks, or when I saw waste.

redness on the belly can be a sign of septicemia aswell.

UPDATE:: His skin has faded from a red to a more of a pinkish color. I think you are all right about him going into shed because bits of dead skin are now starting to peel off. Here are some pics:

Also there is some tiny scabbing going on..

This could be a problem, not just a shed.

This happened to my female pastel. I thought thought there was something wrong, so I waited till she shed to see what was going on. After she shed, she looked just fine. In fact the "scabbing" look a lot worse on my female, than it does in your pics. So my advice would be to just wait until she sheds out.
