    just cant get temps right

ok.. my bp is still in its aquarium but i set this up this other day and let the uth run to see how temps are gonna be

the thermostat is working famously and the hot spot is absolutely perfect but it wont effect the ambient or the cool side.. they are both too cold

i have the hot side set at 92 degrees and it keeps both ambient and cool side at about 68

at first i had reptibark so i thought that was insulating against the uth too much so i switched to paper towels.. nothing then i tried paper towels then newspaper and still had the same problems

i was too stupid to pay attention when i bought it so it doesnt have a flat bottom so i wont be able to use heat tape without taping it on

how should i insulate it or should i at all?

Perhaps you could get a small space heater to bring up the ambient temps around the cage.

Or you could get another UTH and another thermostat and set it to keep the temp around 80.

Those tubs with their loose lids let out too much humidity and heat and they are easily escaped from

Try a locking lid tub like a 34qt sterilite...I still use weights to hold the lid down with locking lid tubs.
Also start with less holes and increase the amount of holes as needed.
6 per side should be plenty to start off with but you'll might need a few more than that.

Like this, sold individually also in store...
